From Lemurs leaping in the trees to Chameleons slowly surveying the area, Madagascar is filled with unique wildlife. If you are keeping a lifer list Madagascar is a 'Must-visit' with sheer number of endemic species this country has. Fascinating bird life, insect diversity & stunning landscapes await. Not to mention an amazing variety of NGOs and research bases.

Important information: Roads in Madagascar are known for being bumpy. We recommend packing a neck pillow for comfort.

Day 1 - Arrive at Tulear Airport then we drive to Ifaty. Welcome meeting and a night walk to find the first nocturnal lemurs and chameleons. (You need to organise your own internal flight)
Day 2 - Exploring the Mosa Reserve for some regional endemics with a workshop after lunch.
Day 3 - Head from Mosa to Zombiste for some afternoon bird watching and a nightwalk looking for the Pale Fork-marker Lemur and white browed owl.
Day 4 - Early morning bird watching in the western dry habitat before heading to Ranohira.
Day 5 - Early morning start. We then drop off some supplies to a partner charity before arriving at the Anja Community reserve - time for Ring-tailed Lemurs!
Day 6 - Head of to Ranomafana, where we will stay at Centre ValBio Research station. Head into the NP for some new rain forest species,
Day 7 - Looking for Bamboo Lemurs, Sifaka and plenty of other wildlife in Ranomafana NP. A presentation from CVB researchers in the afternoon and a night walk for chameleons.
Day 8 - Head to a higher elevation in Ranomafana to find some different species like the Rufous-headed Ground Roller. Spend the evening in the town further down for some amazing amphibians.
Day 9 - Leave Ranomafana with a stop for a Carpet chameleon before arriving at Ambositra. Explore the local art markets.
Day 10 - A travel day with plenty of stops from Ambositra to Antananarivo.
Day 11 - Head to Vohimana to stay at another partner NGOs site. We arrive to settle in and do some bird watching in the afternoon. Head off in the evening for some new lemur species as well as chameleons.
Day 12 - A morning hike looking for the largest lemur species - the indri, and other species like the collared Nightjar.
Day 13 - A early hike to find more species endemic to this region, with luck some sifaka! An evening observing the stars - there is no light pollution here.
Day 14 - Our last day in Madagascar together, we pack up and head back to Antananarivo after lunch.
